Cookie policy
What Omni Agent keeps in your browser, what it doesn't, and how to change your choice.
The short version
Reading this website sets no tracking cookies. We count visits without cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies only if you click "Accept", and you can change your mind at any time. There is no advertising and no tracking across other sites.
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. This page lists everything Omni Agent keeps in your browser, cookie or not.
Everything we keep in your browser
| Name | What it does | Kept for | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
oa_session | Keeps you signed in to your account. Only set when you log in. | 30 days, or until you log out | Essential |
oa_csrf | Protects forms in your account from being sent by another site. | Until you close the browser | Essential |
oa_device | Remembers that you entered your 2-step code on this device, so we don't ask again. Only if you tick "Don't ask again on this device". | 30 days | Essential |
oa_consent | Remembers your answer in the cookie banner, so it doesn't ask again. Kept in your browser's storage, never sent to us. | 6 months | Essential |
_ga | Google Analytics: tells one visitor from another. Only after you accept. | 2 years | Analytics |
_ga_… | Google Analytics: keeps the state of your visit. Only after you accept. | 2 years | Analytics |
Essential cookies are needed for the site and your account to work, so they don't need your consent. Analytics cookies do.
Counting visits without cookies
We count page views and button clicks ourselves, without cookies and without storing your network address. A visitor is counted with a one-way code made from the date, the network address and the browser type. It changes every day and can't be turned back into an address, so nobody can be followed from one day to the next.
If your browser sends "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control", nothing is counted at all. The details are in the privacy policy.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics runs in Consent Mode. Until you click "Accept", its script doesn't load and nothing is sent to Google. If you accept, it sets the two _ga cookies above to tell us which pages are read. We never switch on its advertising features. If you reject after accepting, the cookies are removed.
Ahrefs
Ahrefs Web Analytics counts visits to the public website. It sets no cookies, so it doesn't need your choice in the banner. If your browser sends "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control", it doesn't run.
The spam check on forms
When you send a form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person is sending it. It runs only at that moment, doesn't set a tracking cookie, and isn't used for advertising.
The cookie banner
The banner appears only if an analytics tool is set up. "Accept" and "Reject" have the same weight, and not answering counts as "Reject". This is what it looks like:
Cookie settings
Your current choice, which you can change here. "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page brings you back.
Your choice: not answered yet (counts as reject).
You can also delete this site's cookies and storage in your browser's settings. The site keeps working; you'll just need to log in again.
