Does the AI Act apply to a small business?
Yes. There is no general exemption for small businesses. The transparency rules in Article 50 apply from 2 August 2026: people must be told when they talk to an AI, and realistic AI images and video must be labelled. For small businesses and start-ups, the maximum fine is the lower of €15 million or 3% of worldwide annual turnover.
Didn't the EU delay the AI Act?
Only part of it. The 2026 "Digital Omnibus" moved the high-risk rules to 2 December 2027 and 2 August 2028. It did not move Article 50, so the transparency rules apply from 2 August 2026. Generative AI tools already on the market before that date have until 2 December 2026 to add machine-readable marking.
Is this legal advice?
No. Omni Agent checks and fixes what it can and keeps dated proof of it. For a question about your specific situation, ask a lawyer. Our report gives them a good place to start.
What can the officers change on their own?
Only what you allow. By default they read and draft. Changing your website or sending anything waits for your yes, like every other Omni Agent bot.
When do the other officers arrive?
The Accessibility Officer is next. The Privacy Officer and the E-invoicing Officer follow. You get each one in your plan as soon as it's live, and we email you when it is.
Can I offer this to my clients?
Yes. On the Agency plan every client workspace gets the officers, and the monthly reports carry your logo. See Omni Agent for agencies.
